As a partner of WRO™ USA, we believe that it’s never too soon to be interested in robotics or the STEM subjects. This is why Semia offers the option for children as young as 6 years old to participate in STEM activities with the use of the WeDo program, so they can participate in WRO™ activities.
WeDo has been developed by LEGO® Education for children aged between six and 10. The aim is to give them a positive learning experience early in their lives by working with a less complex robotics system than the LEGO® Mindstorms® that still provides opportunities for learning and enquiry.
Even children with no previous interest in robotics or technical ability can get involved and learn the basics very quickly. WeDo has been designed so that everyone can have a go and, with that in mind and the Massachusetts and Connecticut Chapter includes it in our National Qualifier event.
The Challenges are based on the Regular Category and the Open Category format and are only available at the local, national qualifier and national level for competition at this time.
The WeDo Regular Challenge designed for younger children. The goal is for each team to build and program a WeDo robot that can complete a series of tasks within a Game Table.
